Lotto Goes Down Under

De Lotto stuurt tegenwoordig bireven naar Australië. De erdactie van de Sydney Morning Herald kreeg een briefje maar reageerde er niet op. Slim waarschijnlijk.

Pigs might fly. One way to set your company's accountants into a frenzy: give them the email that arrived several times at This Column this week from Werken Bij De Lotto, of Amsterdam, advising us that You/your company, attached top ticket number ... drew the lucky numbers 37-13-34-85-56-42, and subsequently won in category C. We have been approved for a lump sum payout of $US1,500,000 in cash! Now that's a windfall that will help Fairfax profits somewhat. There is, however, some little hitch, etc, and we mustn't publicise this win or we're disqualified. Darn, now we've done it. But we're waiting for the request for us to send them cash.
